Morning guys! If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll know I’m starting #HealthyUnder20! I’ll explain, healthy under 20 is basically a bunch of healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack recipes and ideas that you can have ready in 20 minutes and under! How perfect does that sound ey?  The recipes are all very well balanced including carbs, protein and important vitamins to make your diets less painful and more tolerable. I’m trying to get rid of my winter pouch and get a super flat crop top stomach for summer so I’ve been eating a little healthier and working out a bit more. I’m even starting pilates this week which I’m slightly nervous about as I’m not flexible in any type of way! Like, I’ve NEVER been able to touch my toes, that kind of unflexible! Pancakes are one of the best breakfasts! Am I right or am I right? They’re so quick to make, they’re sweet and they’re fluffy. If you’ve been with Genie in the Kitchen for a while you’ll know I’m slightly obsessed with Oreos. I’m a major Oreo enthusiast! So today I decided to play a little and added crumbled Oreos into my pancake mix. Absolutely amazing guys, you have to try it! Watch the video to see exactly how I make it here. Ingredients  5 Oreos 2 1/2 cups of self-raising flour 2 medium eggs 1/2 a cup of sugar 1 1/2 cup of milk (semi-skimmed or whole) 1 tsp of vanilla extract 1/4 cup of sunflower oil Method 1) Crush the 5 Oreos. (I put them into a plastic bag and crushed them with a rolling pin)  2) Place the flour into a bowl and add in the crushed Oreos. It was brought to my attention by one of my lovely subscribers on YouTube that I really don’t post that many breakfast recipes, after snooping around my blog I realised she was 100% right. When it comes to breakfast I love eating foods that will fill me up right until lunchtime. This breakfast muffin is perfect for that, with the eggs, bacon and spinach providing you with that fuel for the morning rush, you’ll definitely be able to survive all morning on it! It’s also a breakfast that works well with different diets. For example, if you’re trying to eat less fat take out the cheese and bacon, instead butter the muffins  (with a light butter) and only include the eggs and spinach in your sandwich with a sauce (low in fat of course) of your choice.


I say,”Indulgence, always and in all ways”. Life’s short, so you’ve got to enjoy the sweeter things it has to offer like cakes, cookies and French toast! Now I’m not saying eat sugar all day and everyday (I don’t want you to get diabetes!).However eating a slice of cake, some fries or any indulgent meal every few days isn’t going to kill you. If you follow my Instagram (@BoyinAkinlade) you’ll learn I eat A LOT of not so healthy things, despite all this I still manage to have a flat stomach. You’ve just got to work out! I love, love, LOVE pancakes! Tell me, what’s better than a sweet, savoury and fluffy dessert for breakfast? Not much,right. Pancakes can be enjoyed as part of a breakfast or lunch. It’s totally up to you. It’s such a filling and flavoursome breakfast which is  one of the many reasons I love them! It’s the perfect Christmas morning breakfast once topped with pancakes and drizzled in maple syrup. Mmmmm Let’s get cooking:


The breakfast of champions!. Every now and again I go all out on breakfast forget the bacon, sausages and eggs (which is traditional if you’re a Londoner!) Sometimes it’s fun to dive into the American side of things,well the American movie side of things. I’m thinking a white picket fence kind of breakfast? ….(Hmmmmm)….something that’s quick and easy to whip up?….(Hmmmm)….but fruity? (Hmmmm). Perhaps some blueberry pancakes? and guess what it only takes 10 minutes to make!
